More than 20 years ago, Bobby Melkesian, the founder and owner of Desert Empire Homes, noticed the Coachella Valley’s dire need for up to code, high-quality, low-income housing. As a general contractor at the time, Mr. Melkesian decided it was time to make this critical need a reality and opened Desert Empire Homes in 1998. Since then, our team has proudly served the residents of the beautiful Coachella Valley and is now considered the “go to” source for affordable housing within the area.
To provide maximum utility to our customers, Desert Empire Homes participates in a public private partnership. Through our combined efforts, we have successfully created new, high quality, low-income housing for more than 550 families.
